Texas Hosted A Very Important 4-Star Monday

first_img Over the past six days, the Longhorns have added eight predictions for the 6-foot-0.5, 183-pound Thompson, including four on Monday evening alone. The Crystal Ball reads 100 percent for Texas.Thompson’s recruitment appears to be moving quickly now that he has an offer in hand as he made the trip to Austin on Monday for an unofficial visit. He previously took official visits to Arkansas, TCU and Oklahoma State in April, May and June, respectively.Texas’ urgency here makes sense, as the Longhorns are yet to land a safety in the 2020 class. That could change with Chris Thompson Jr.’s decision this week. Auburn, Ohio State, and USC are the other finalists in that recruitment.Still, it is a position that Texas clearly wants to bolster, and there is certainly no harm in adding a pair of four-star players at the back-end of the defense. Jerrin Thompson is the No. 194 player, No. 16 safety, and No. 32 Texas recruit in the class, per 247. Chris Thompson Jr. is ranked No. 210, No. 18 among safeties, and No. 33 in Texas.
